![]() For days at a time, my online banking is completely inaccessible, and this is a recurring problem right now - long since their IT systems failed. I've found their online/mobile offerings to be appalingly unreliable. Nothing I need day-to-day, and nothing I couldn’t survive for a little while even in a serious pinch. I am only using the account to hold the last £1500 of my emergency fund. Personally I am not bothered about customer service. I spoke to a manager when I opened up my account and he was pretty upfront about how unhappy he was, the poor guy. They’ve had people coming in and yelling at them for months so they’re all tired and unmotivated. The staff are stressed and unhappy because of the serious IT issues. However, those who open accounts today are getting them in the new system(s) directly, so new customers don’t experience any issues. My rough understanding is there is some kind of integration/interface/data transfer issue with getting customers from the legacy system up and running in the new one. Which takes an hour to get through (literally an hour - so many forms and requirements, a lot of them to do with money laundering regulations).Ĭustomers who had accounts prior to the new IT system being turned on have reported all kinds of issues. You need to go to a branch and book an appointment to do it.
